Washington Hispanic:
The governor Maryland Larry Hogan says the GoP’s efforts to overturn the presidential election are making a “mockery” of the nation’s electoral process.
The Republican governor released a statement Sunday condemning efforts to challenge the Electoral College vote when Congress meets in joint session to confirm victory 306 – 232 of President-elect Joe Biden.
«The plan of the Members of Congress to reject presidential election certification is a mockery of our system and of who we are as Americans, ”Hogan said.
Hogan says President Donald Trump and his team have had all the Opportunities to provide evidence to support their claims, and they have not.
The House and Senate will meet Wednesday in a joint session to accept the Electoral College vote . It’s usually a routine process that is now expected to be a protracted fight.
With no evidence of voter fraud or other issues, top Republicans across the country are joining in to Democrats to say there is no reason for the federal government to intervene in what state officials have certified were free and fair elections.
