Nancy Pelosi re-elected as Speaker of the House of Representatives in a tight vote

Democrat Nancy Pelosi was re-elected this Sunday as president of the House of Representatives with the challenge of reviving the economy and approving measures to face the pandemic with a narrow majority, which had not been seen in that chamber in 20 years.

With 216 votes in favor and 208 against, Pelosi se secured enough votes to remain in the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives , so that the one who was elected in 2019 and that places whoever occupies it as third in the line of presidential succession, behind the vice president.

Pelosi, who also held this position between 2007 and 2011, he remained during the voting seated in her seat in silence, although she nodded or smiled every time a colleague on the bench voted for her out loud.
