A diplomat at the United Nations (UN) was found dead in her Manhattan apartment on New Year’s Eve, in an apparent suicide .
The unidentified woman of 38 years old was found face down with a belt around her neck in the bedroom of her apartment in 333 East 45 th Street, shortly after noon on Thursday 31, the sources said.
The cops also found antidepressant drugs prescription and two bottles of melatonin, one empty and the other with little content. No signs of crime were reported.
“He lived here for two years,” said Hernán Ávila, from the maintenance staff of the building, located very close to the headquarters of the ONU. The diplomat lived alone in an apartment on the fourth floor, added to the New York Post . The nationality of the woman and her role before the UN have been disclosed.
